Frequently Asked Questions

How do I track my mileage?

Open RoadFolio and tap the Trips tab. Tap "Start Trip" before you drive. RoadFolio uses GPS to record your route in the background, even if you switch apps or lock your phone. Tap "Stop Trip" when you arrive. You can categorize the trip as business or personal afterward.

Why isn't background tracking working on my phone?

Make sure you've granted RoadFolio "Always" location permission in your phone's settings. On Android, also disable battery optimization for RoadFolio so the system doesn't pause tracking. On iPhone, ensure Background App Refresh is on.

How do I upgrade?

Go to Settings, tap Subscription, and choose your plan: Pro ($29.99/month or $299/year) for the full business toolkit, or Elite ($49.99/month or $479/year) for everything in Pro plus AI features and extra storage. Payments are handled securely by Stripe. You can cancel anytime from the same screen.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Open RoadFolio, go to Settings, tap Subscription, and tap "Manage Subscription." You'll be taken to your billing portal where you can cancel. Your Elite features remain active until the end of your current billing period.

How do I delete my account?

Visit our account deletion page or email us at roadfolio@gmail.com. We'll permanently delete your account and all associated data within 30 days.

Can I export my data?

Yes. Go to Reports, choose the date range and data type you want, and tap Export. RoadFolio generates PDF and CSV files you can download or email to yourself, your bookkeeper, or your accountant.

Is my data safe?

Yes. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We use Firebase by Google for storage, which meets enterprise security standards. We never sell your data. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Does RoadFolio work offline?

Yes. You can record trips, log expenses, and create invoices without an internet connection. Data syncs to the cloud as soon as you reconnect.

How do I connect my bank account?

Go to Settings, tap Integrations, then Bank Accounts. Tap "Connect a Bank" and follow the Plaid prompts. We use Plaid to securely link your bank, and we never see your login credentials.

I'm being charged but my account shows Free?

This is rare but can happen if your subscription was created with a different email. Contact us at roadfolio@gmail.com with the email on your bank statement and we'll fix it within 24 hours.
