Quick answers to the most common questions about your data and privacy in RoadFolio.

How is my data stored?

Your data is stored in Google Cloud Firebase, in US-based data centers. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. We use Firebase's industry-standard security rules so only you can access your own records.

Do you sell my data?

No. Never. We don't sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. Period.

Do you use my data to train AI?

No. Your RoadBuddy chat conversations are processed by Anthropic's Claude API to generate responses. Per Anthropic's API terms, your data is not used to train their AI models.

Who has access to my data?

How do I download all my data?

In the app, go to Settings → Privacy → Download My Data. You'll instantly get a JSON file with everything: trips, expenses, income, invoices, clients, jobs, notes, and all settings. No waiting, no email needed.

How do I delete my account and all my data?

In the app, go to Settings → Account → Delete My Account Permanently. You'll be asked to type "DELETE" to confirm. Once confirmed, your account and all 30+ data categories are permanently deleted from our database immediately. This cannot be undone.

What happens to my location/GPS data?

GPS coordinates are only collected while a trip is actively being tracked. Tracking stops the moment you end the trip. Location data is stored as part of your trip records (start/end coordinates, total miles) and is never shared with third parties for advertising.

Can I use RoadFolio without sharing my location?

Yes. Location is only used for the optional GPS mileage tracking feature. You can use every other feature (income tracking, expense tracking, invoices, jobs, etc.) without ever granting location permission.

What about my bank data from Plaid?

If you connect a bank via Plaid, we receive transaction history from January 1 of the current year. Your bank login credentials are never seen by us - Plaid handles authentication directly with your bank. You can disconnect anytime in Settings → Integrations.

Is RoadFolio CCPA / GDPR compliant?

How long do you keep my data?

As long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all your data is permanently removed within minutes. See our Data Retention Policy for full details.
